What to Expect When Visiting St. Andrew’s

New to St. Andrew’s?
We all were new at one time, and we remember what it’s like! so we’ve provided the information below, knowing that it’s easier to venture into a new place when you know what to expect.

About Us
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is a community of faith dedicated to living out our mission “worshipping Christ, growing together, and serving others.”  We have a long history of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Valparaiso, Indiana and the surrounding communities.
Weekend Worship
Check out our worship times on the right side of this page or click here. Approximately 130 people attend St. Andrew’s worship services every weekend, and we have lots of volunteers working hard to make sure all visitors are welcomed and feel comfortable when you arrive.

Our congregation spans a range of ages and backgrounds. The priest and lay ministers wear vestments (robes), but the people in the pews dress in all styles—from jeans to business suits. St. Andrew’s offers liturgical worship that features quiet reflection and traditional hymns.

Each service lasts for approximately one hour. During each worship service, there is an opportunity to greet the people sitting around you, but no one will single you out as a visitor. Also, we don’t expect our visitors to give, so feel free to let the offering plate pass by when it comes down your row.

Getting Connected
Getting connected at St. Andrew’s is about relationships that get beneath the surface. Those kinds of relationships won’t come simply by attending worship services. They take time.
One way to get connected is to join a fellowship group or Bible study. Christian formation programs for children, youth, and adults are normally available for all ages every Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m or on Saturdays at 4:15pm.  We also have small group ministry for men and women.
Serving others also deepens your relationship with God and people. We offer a variety of service opportunities that will connect you with a team of staff and volunteers who work together in serving others and God.
Finally, you can engage with others through growth and recovery programs. From managing money to building a stronger marriage, these programs will help you know God and build relationships with His people.
