“All Are Welcome In This Place”

Fall 2020 Sermon Series

It’s easy to feel discouraged and lose your joy. Coronavirus, sheltering in place, loss of a job, worries about

the future, debt, illness, family strife…the challenges of today can easily overwhelm us. Paul’s letter to the
Philippians directly addresses this human tendency toward discouragement and hopelessness. Without
downplaying the true difficulties of life on this earth (after all, Paul is imprisoned in Rome near the end of
his life), he reminds us that the Gospel brings perspective, relief, and hope that is not contingent on how
you feel or where you are or what you do. In this knowledge, we can find comfort, peace,
and ultimately
as Christ takes His rightful place at the center of our lives.
