March 30, 2018, 3:00 am @ | View Map

Friday, Feb. 16 and Friday, March 16
Follow in the footsteps at our child-friendly Stations of the Cross wherein the children will learn to pray the stations in a hands-on way of learning. Each young person will be given the opportunity to participate by leading one of the stations and everyone will receive a special momento at each station. It will be a memorable formation event that will give the young people a little insight as to what Jesus experienced on the day we call Good Friday.  We welcome all to join us on this special spiritual journey.

Friday, March 2nd at 6:30pm
Good Friday, March 30th @ 3:00pm
Join us as we journey with Jesus on his way to the cross.  Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross, the Way of Sorrows or Via Crucis, refers to a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying prayers. We move from one area to another in the church, or down a path on our church grounds for the Outdoor Stations, where the Stations are depicted, praying devotions in memory of each Station of His suffering and death.
The indoor Stations are depicted in paintings done by artist Harriet Rex Smith back in the 1960s (see sample above). The outdoor Stations are a labor of love carved by local artisan Charles Swickard (see depiction to the right) and gifted to St. Andrew’s.
Enter into the story of the crucifixion and experience the saving love of Jesus.
