Usurper’s Curse, Ellen Foster’s seventh book in the Lady Apollonia West Country Mystery Series, is set in 1406-07 during the reign of King Henry IV.  Much of the action takes place in the West Country of England, especially between the Lady Apollonia’s home village of Aust on the River Severn and her brother, the Earl Ferdinand’s manor of Marshfield in Gloucestershire.  An important focus of the story is in London, however, in the hands of the Archbishop Arundel whose powerful leadership supports the rule of King Henry during months of his disabling illnesses.  Rumors are being spread that the king suffers from leprosy while the king’s lead physician insists that is not true.
